Executive Office for Weed and Seed provides a coordinative function in bringing together Federal, State and local governments, the community, and the private sector to form a partnership to create a safe, drug-free environment. The core elements of the Weed and Seed strategy are enhanced law enforcement; community policing as a bridge between law enforcement and social revitalization efforts; prevention, early intervention, and treatment efforts; and neighborhood restoration, including opportunities for economic development. Weed and Seed is primarily a strategy rather than a grant program.
